John Deere and Trimble Loadrite announce the integration of LOADRITE L2180 Scale with John Deere WorkSight at Conexpo 2014. Wheeled loader production data can be viewed remotely in JDLink to boost loader productivity integration with the JDLink. The LOADRITE L2180 includes information such as total bucket loads, trucks loaded, and totals by material in addition to other JDLink data.

Manitowoc has introduced two new crawler cranes that feature what the company calls “game-changing” counterweight technology. The company introduced the 300tonne MLC300 and the 650tonne MLC650 on Wednesday. Among the features of the new cranes are their Variable Position Counterweight, or VPC.

Elliott Equipment’s new 40.8tonne boom truck is permit-free. At Conexpo on Thursday, the company unveiled the 45142 boom truck, which does not require a federal permit in any of the 50 US states. “It’s a significant feature,” said David Phillips, manager of global business development and marketing at Elliott. Troxler has its Hamburg Wheel Tracker on show at Conexpo, a product which it acquired when the company purchased Precision Machine and Welding around 18 months ago. Since then, Troxler has made a few changes. The software has been updated to make it more user-friendly and the manufacturer has adapted the way in which the machine is put together.

To say the GigapixelCam X10 is a high-powered camera is an understatement. The camera, unveiled by EarthCam.net at Conexpo 2014, is capable of taking 10 billion pixel, 360º panoramic images. “We help monitor, document and promote,” said Brian Cury, CEO and founder of the company. The monitoring comes in the form of live-streaming video that can bring the job site to a desktop. The documenting is achieved through archiving photos throughout the process, should a dispute surface.

Chicago Pneumatic has launched a new complete line of compact tandem asphalt rollers and soil compactors to the North American marketplace. The introduction of ride-on rollers is said to offer a larger-scale complement to the line of Chicago Pneumatic light compaction equipment. The models being introduced in North America include articulated tandem asphalt rollers in both petrol and diesel models, as well as small vibratory rollers for soil compaction.

BOMAG is offering new soil compacting solutions for the 4-8tonne class with the BW177D-5 being the first of this improved range. Weighing in at 6.7tonnes, the machine has a 55.4kW diesel and Friedrich Knoche, a product manager for the soil compactors said, “These machines are totally new and they have Tier 4 Final engines. There are two versions, the DH with better gradeability and the D, which is the standard model.”

This includes 17 new products and numerous updated models. With developments in hydraulic technology, many of the products have been made more compact, though offering improved output.

Volvo Construction Equipment’s new Tier 4 Final/Stage IV-compliant L250H wheeled loader has been designed to perform heavy tasks with better performance, safety and fuel economy levels using the manufacturer’s OptiShift technology. In North America the L250H is ideally suited to working with on-highway trucks, and the L250H will load a 22.7tonne tri-axle on-highway truck in just two passes. Goodyear has developed the RL-4D tyre range in response to customer demand for a harsh floor tyre in underground mining. A hybrid mix of the GP4-D and the firm’s RL5K tyre, the RL-4D is suitable for articulated dump trucks and wheeled loaders. Initially the tyre has been launched in an 875/65R29 size, but the company could develop additional sizes if there is demand.
