KOBELCO Construction Machinery USA is raising its profile in the US with the introduction of the improved excavator range at Conexpo. One of the key new models in the line-up is the 5.5tonne class SK55, although the range extends all the way to the powerful SK500 which competes in the competitive 50tonne excavator class.

New highly versatile skid steer loaders and compact loaders are being introduced by Terex. The Terex TSR60 skid steer loader offers a rated capacity of 680kg and is powered by the latest, low emission engine technology that meets Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB requirements. The PR 736 dozer being introduced to the US market at Conexpo 2014 is the first model in Liebherr’s new Generation 6 series and is said to offer customers increased efficiency and lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Among the innovations on the Generation 6 machine models, including the 20-25tonne service weight PR 736, are electronic travel speed regulation with an integral eco-function, and pro-active power control.

Montabert has designed its novel Micro CPA drilling attachment for use with a number of utility machines such as backhoe loaders, compact excavators, and skid-steer loaders. The firm offers the H22 and H25 variants, which are single-pass drills with a feed rotation of 45° from vertical. They can be used to drill holes with diameters from 25.4mm-44.45mm and 31.75mm-76.2mm respectively, with maximum hole lengths of 6.1m and 9.1m. Both models can be mounted to carriers in the 5-10tonne range.

Terex Washing Systems’ FM120BW bucket wheel dewatering system exhibited at ConExpo, continues to be an extremely efficient plant effectively solving customers washing requirements around the world, says the company. Among installations in 2013 were those in Russia, Australia, Turkey and the Middle East. Atlas Copco’s (AC) ergonomically designed LP6500 duplex roller is said by the Swedish firm to offer high operator comfort. Following its summer 2013 launch, Bobcat’s Conexpo debut-making E63 Compact Tail Swing excavator is said to have better joystick controls, lift capacity, arm and bucket forces, and drive performance than previous models. Replacing the E60, the E63 is the second-largest machine in the company’s compact excavator family. Caterpillar has designed its 980M and 982M wheeled loaders for fast loading purposes. Increased productivity and reduced cycle times are key features of Caterpillar’s latest 770G and 772G off-highway trucks. Major upgrades have been made in emissions technology, transmission and traction control systems, helping to boost output onsite.
