The world’s first 3D-printed excavator was unveiled in the new Tech Experience zone of CONEXPO-CON/AGG. Project AME (Additive Manufactured Excavator), led by Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and involving multiple partners from industry, trade associations and academia, was instigated back in 2014 when visiting members of the Center for Compact and Efficient Fluid Power (CCEFP) saw ORNL’s 3D-printed car.

The CAT Command remote control system offers a choice of two operator interfaces - a portable operator console designed for line-of-sight use and an ergonomically-designed operator station that can be located remotely.

Swedish attachment specialist Steelwrist has launched a branch in the US in a bid to supply the North American market with its rotating excavator attachments. The move came after Steelwrist noted an increase in enquiries and interest from the US. “In the last two years we started to get a lot of requests for quotations and we saw that a lot of people surfing our website were from the US,” says CEO Stefan Stockhaus.
Epson’s Moverio smart glasses improve safety for construction drones

Atlas Copco updates WEDA range of pumps

Atlas Copco has introduced three PAS diesel-powered pumps, with outlets of 122mm or 200mm. The high capacity diaphragm machines have a pumping head of up to 55m and can handle flows of up to 13,800 litres/min. The company is also replacing its WEDA electric pump range over the next 12 months, with the WEDA+ range.
