Leica Geosystems says that its new DS4000 utility detection system can identify underground assets up to 60% deeper than conventional systems. By integrating IDS GeoRadar’s patented Equalised Scrambling Technology (EsT), it detects underground utilities clearly at both shallow and deeper levels. It can even reveal smaller objects, such as fibre optic cables.

Traffic Data Systems has been awarded a bridge weigh-in-motion contract from the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) in northern Germany.

The Köhlbrand Bridge across the River Elbe is one of the most important transport links in the port of Hamburg. The reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete structure and steel cable-stayed bridge was opened in 1974. At 3.7km long, 135m high and with a clearance height 53m, the Köhlbrand Bridge is Germany's second-longest bridge.

A new venture between Hydex and Hills Machinery is using proven ADT technology to deliver effective dust suppression. 

At the core is a new water truck range. Rokbak RA30 and RA40 articulated dump trucks (ADTs) are being fitted with high-performance water tanks to be deployed across quarries and infrastructure projects under the Hydex banner.
