The 220km road connecting the two countries will improve trade and transport between the two nations. South Sudan will repay the loan largely through supplies of crude oil to Ethiopia.
Design and construction of the route will be carried out by consulting engineers and contractors from Ethiopia. The route of the new road is expected to connect Paloch, Mathiang, Maiwut and Pagak.
