LiuGong Machinery, a major Chinese maker of heavy construction equipment, said it will invest around US$38 million in manufacturing in Brazil. The announcement was made during the opening ceremony of its first factory in Brazil, in the city of Mogi Guaçu, around 180km from São Paulo. LiuGong expects to produce 1,500 wheel loaders and excavators annually at the facility in the first three years of operation.

SANY has lifted the covers on its new articulated dumptruck, the SAT40, at bauma China 2014. Featuring a 24m3 capacity dumpbody with exhaust heating, the SAT40 has a payload of 39.5tonnes. By combining the transmission with a hybrid module, ZF said greater operating efficiencies were available from the integration of start/stop technology and energy recovery from regenerative braking. Potentially, the hybrid drive system has the ability to boost fuel efficiency by up to 25% in addition to the 20% higher operating efficiency already offered by the cPower transmission, said ZF.

ZF has chosen a pair of radial hydraulic motors for use in its compact single-speed hydrostatic transmission, the 2HC85, which has been developed for compact wheeled loaders up to 100kW and 10.5tonnes operating weight. VF Venieri has diversified from its traditional range of smaller machines to launch the 18-63, a 19tonne, 3.5m3 wheeled loader. Though this is the most widely sold type of machine in the world, Venieri believes its new machine can forge a place for itself, according to managing director Filippo Muccinelli.
