Cats eyes, which light up in response to changing traffic lights, will be used for the first time in the UK at a motorway junction. Highways England, the government agency, is installing around 170 of the LED road studs at Switch Island, one of England’s busiest motorway junctions – used by over 90,000 vehicles every day.
