Liebherr is adding to its product range with the acquisition of the German concrete pump manufacturer Waitzinger. This deal broadens the existing Liebherr-Mischtechnik product range and the company says it has plans underway for further expansion of this business segment. Waitzinger is based in Neu-Ulm, close to the Bad Schussenried facility where Liebherr-Mischtechnik is based. The deal was signed between the managing directors of Liebherr-Mischtechnik and Waitzinger Baumaschinen.

Work on a major upgrade at a busy German road junction is expected to be completed by the end of 2011. To assist in the project, two Putzmeister large-boom concrete pumps, an M 58-5 from Berger Beton and an M 62-6 from BFM Betonförderdienst in Munich, arrived at the Neufahrn motorway junction, north of the city.

Chinese construction equipment firm Sany is buying Putzmeister, the German manufacturer of concrete pumps. The terms of the deal have not been revealed officially but the acquisition is said to be worth €360-500 million according to various reports.
