Perkins is introducing a new range of diesels that meet the coming EU Stage V emissions requirements. These have been designed to meet the much tougher emission control requirements. In addition the firm is also introducing a new low cost engine monitoring package. There are 15 basic engine models in the line-up, with a huge range of variants to suit a massive array of different applications and installation requirements.

Deutz and Liebherr have agreed a cooperation deal. This collaborative arrangement will provide Deutz the global distribution and service rights for Liebherr diesel engines in various applications and with power outputs from 200 - 620kW. Curtiss-Wright Industrial division has developed the JC040, a single-axis, proportional rocker that is suitable for arduous applications in specialty off-highway vehicles. The JC040 unit uses non-contacting, sensing technology for long-life integrity of its output signal. The IP67-rated JC040 provides safety functionality through dual outputs, which can be set to positive or a combination of positive and negative ramps and also benefits from independent supply voltages for each of the outputs. German diesel engine maker DEUTZ is reporting strong half-year results, which it says will help the firm to invest in research and development into future powertrain solutions. The company says it has seen a marked increase in new orders and revenue as well as a significant improvement in free cash flow, while it has also benefited substantially from the sale of its former manufacturing site in Cologne. The company says that new orders in the DEUTZ Group increased by 18.6% to €803 million for the half-year,
