New Malaysian highway projects planned for 2015

Malaysia is planning a series of new hew highway construction projects that will commence in 2015. The Works Ministry of Malaysia has plans for seven new highway projects with a combined value of US$6.19 billion to begin in 2015. The projects include the Serdang-Kinrara-Putrajaya Highway (SKIP), the Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE) extension and the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE). The projects include the Serdang-Kinrara-Putrajaya Highway (SKIP), the Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE) extension and the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE). They also include the West Coast Expressway (WCE) from Banting to Taiping, the Damansara-Shah Alam Expressway (DASH), the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex) and the Kuala Lumpur Outer Ring Road (KLORR).

    Contracts are now being awarded for a major new expressway project in Malaysia. The contracts relate to the project to construct the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE). Malaysian firm Gabungan AQRS is now handling a US$126.4 million subcontract for the project that involves building a bridge section. This package of works should take two years to complete with the work scheduled to finish by the end of 2018.
