India highway project attracts interest from bidders

The tender process for the Mumbai-Nagpur expressway project in India has received strong interest from bidders so far. The tender process for the Mumbai-Nagpur expressway project in India has received strong interest from bidders so far. The 7816 Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is at present reviewing 33 bids for the project. Indian firms account for the majority of the bids but international companies also number amongst the bidders, with several joint ventures having entered the tender process. The Mumbai-Nagpur Super Communication Expressway project will be handled under the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) model and has a projected value of up to US$7.09 billion.

Meanwhile 10 of the contracts for the Nagpur-Mumbai Super Communication Expressway (NMSCE) have now been awarded. The work is expected to take 36 months to carry out with the Maharashtra State Road Development Corp (MSRDC) managing the project.

    Land is being acquired for a major expressway project in India. In all 10,649 individual land sale arrangements have been made with 20,916 owners for the Nagpur-Mumbai expressway project. Buying the land has cost close to US$775 million so far, with around 86% of the land needed for the project having now been acquired. The deals have been handled by Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).

A US$228.56 million contract has been awarded to Sadhbav Engineering for the Nagpur-Mumbai Super Communication Expressway. The route will be access-controlled and the deal was awarded by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation.
