The cost of building a bridge across the Kerch Strait between the Kerch Peninsula of Crimea and the Taman Peninsula of Russia's Krasnodar Krai may be double the initial forecast, according to Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov.

Sokolov says the ambitious project could now cost €2.05 billion (RUB 100 billion) instead of RUB 50 billion, as announced previously. The cost has increased, says Sokolov, since it is planned to build not only a road vehicle bridge but also a railway structure.
