WCT secures US$319.69mn Oman expressway construction deal

Malaysian construction firm WCT has secured a contract worth US$319.69 million (MYR 1bn) for the construction of a 44.75km expressway in Oman. According to a statement, WCT will be undertaking the project through a joint venture with Oman Roads Engineering within a period of three years.

According to an Oman national newspaper the package, the fifth of six construction packages associated with the project includes three major bridge works taking the expressway across large wadis. The bridges will contain as many as 20 spans - each with a length of up to 40m.
