Kuwait’s key construction contract, to build the Subbiya Bridge project, is proceeding on track. The project is now 73% complete. The contract is a major one for Kuwait as it involves the construction of the 36km long Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah Causeway. The work is likely to meet it construction schedule in 2018. Combined Group Contracting (CGC) of Kuwait has sealed a contract for a significant bridge project to link Subiyah area and Shuwaikh port in Kuwait. The contract was signed with Hyundai Engineering & Construction (Hyundai) of South Korea for building, designing and maintaining the bridge. The Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah project is to be finished in five years. It has been reported that the overall value of the project is US$2.62 billion (KWD 738mn). The project's 21.5% stake will be held by CGC.
