Tunisian contractors will handle worth a road project in the country worth a total of $121 million. The firms were awarded the projects by the Tunisian Transport Ministry, despite competition from the Chinese firm China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) during the bidding process.
The project is to build an expressway between the city of Kairouan and the town of Enfidha in the north of the country, a distance of around 60km. Chaâbane & Cie has a $61.5 million share of the project while Soroubat has a $59.5 million share of the work. The two firms will work jointly on the project.
