£264 million North West UK partnership for Costain

Costain has been awarded a £264 million North West UK partnership package.

Costain has been awarded a place by Procure Partnerships Framework on its North-West Contractor Framework in the UK.

Procure Partnerships Framework support public sector organisations deliver infrastructure projects from procurement to completion. The North-West Contractor Framework is managed on behalf of Wirral Council and is accessible by North-West public sector bodies, including government departments, local authorities, regulated utilities, schools, housing associations, and emergency services. Effective from 1 April 2026, the framework will run for four years and has a total value of £1.2 billion.

Costain has secured places on Lot 11 and Lot 12 of the framework. Lot 11 has a total estimated value of £120 million and covers infrastructure projects worth between £15 million and £30 million, whilst Lot 12 and has a total estimated value of £144 million and covers projects worth more than £30 million.

Costain will bring its experience of delivering complex engineering-led solutions in infrastructure projects across the road, rail, integrated transport, energy, water and defence & nuclear energy sectors, utilising its Manchester office as part of its strong presence in the North-West.

Jonathan Willcock, Managing Director, Transportation at Costain, said: “Our selection to the framework marks an expansion of our portfolio of partners in the infrastructure ecosystem and the North-West of England. It is a region that we know well and where we have a strong track record of delivering infrastructure projects predictably in collaboration with our supply chain partners.

Faye Dolan, Framework Director at Procure Partnerships Framework, said: “We are delighted to announce the successful contractors for our third iteration North-West Contractor Framework. This iteration brings together a diverse contractor base, combining national and regional expertise, to ensure public sector clients across the North-West have access to the right contractors for projects of any scale, and that local suppliers have a key part to play in delivering projects in the North-West.
