When the M-6 Motorway is complete, it will provide a key connection for transport between the north and south of the country. Featuring three lanes in either direction, the project is expected to cost $1.7 billion. The project will include building 15 interchanges and 243 underpasses.
When complete, the route will also form part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The initial plan was that the work would be completed in 30 months, meeting international standards for construction and safety. The schedule now seems optimistic, although the plan to build the motorway to international standards can be met.
