In Nigeria’s Ogun State, critical work will now have to be carried out to replace expansion joints on Kara Bridge, Magboro Bridge and Arepo-Punch Bridge. The issues have caused problems for drivers, with several vehicles suffering damage. Repair work is being carried out by CBC Construction Company and should be complete in April 2026.
Meanwhile, work is starting for a 5km stretch of road connecting Oko-Amakom/Oko-Obiokpu/Oko-Anala in Delta State. Phase Two of the project is being carried out by Setraco Nigeria and should take two years to carry out.
Nigeria is benefiting from a series of major road projects at the moment. The new coastal highway connecting Lagos in the South West with Calabar in the South East will deliver a major boost to transport. Other projects include improvements to the important Trans-Sahara route connecting with the North of Nigeria as well as improved links to Cameroon to the East and Benin to the West.
