Construction work is underway for the new 800km N-25 Pakistan Expressway project. The route will provide a new, faster and safer link in Balochistan from Pakistan’s largest city, Karachi, to Quetta and Chaman.
The project is being managed by the National Highway Authority (NHA). Other road projects underway in Balochistan include further upgrades for the 38km Lyari Expressway in Karachi and the M-8. The Lyari Expessway is now able to handle heavy traffic, which will help reduce congestion in the centre of the mega city, which has a population in excess of 20 million.
Meanwhile, work will not be complete for Pakistan’s Ghotki-Kandhkot road and bridge project until 2027. The $113 million project will stretch 12.2km when complete.
