Ho Chi Minh City is to benefit from three major transport projects, with the largest worth $319 million. All three projects will be handled under the PPP model.
A new expressway will link the Saigon River and the Thay Cai Canal, featuring two bridges. Construction will be carried out under a 20-year build-operate-transfer concession package. Around $197.3 million for the work will be provided by the PPP arrangement, while Vietnam’s transport budget will fund the remainder.
Widening work is being planned for National Highway 1 between Kinh Duong Vuong road to the boundary of Long An province. Work will also be carried out for a road from the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway to National Highway 51.
The works have been planned by Vietnam’s Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Authority (TCIP).
