Construction work to widen national road No 13 in Tunisia is expected to cost $183 million. Work on the first section of the project, between Lessouda and Kasserine, is commencing in the second half of 2025.

Tendering for the second half of the project, between Lessouda and Sfax, is now opening. The winner of the tender will be named in 2026 and the work is expected to take three years to complete.

The work also includes adding 39.4km of connecting roads.

Financing for the project is being provided jointly by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Tunisian State.
